I remember the days I put blush on bare skin. Better yet, swiping a layer of powder foundation gently on my skin and a lip gloss. Literally, WTF?
I love smokey eye makeup looks. There is a thin line between just right and too much.
I love shimmer all over and yes, it feels too much especially during the day. Going back to natural tones and pulling a barely there makeup feels refreshing and young. It is not my everyday style but I like it once in a while.
My skin is dry but looks very good these days. My acne, after pregnancy, completely cleaned out and I feel like my early 30s.
This is a very sleepy video of me. I am proud of it. I am proud of the fact that I am giving myself the time I need.
Recommend me your favorite matte eye shadow formulations.
If you combine this with falsies and glitter and baking... Yes, it is too much for work. But, on its own with clean and tuned down face makeup, why not? It is elegant and energized. It feels special.
I can not tell you how many times my daily, work makeup made me look even more tired and worn down. Soft browns and soft pinks, same old, same old... It is very important too feel excited about your makeup routine. It should not be a routine, it should be a self care ritual. So, look for colors and textures that excite you. Slowly corporate them to your ritual.
I continue to dig into my ND eye shadow palettes. The key thing while using these palettes is to focus on minimal number of shades. Also, concrete minerals electric eye primer is match made in heaven. Start with your lid shade, then blend your crease colors.
For this look, I used:
Quick Silver on the lid
Deep Pacific on the outer corner of the lid
Petroleum Blue in the inner part of the lid over Quick Silver
Mac Cosmetics Soba in the crease
Stila eyeliner in Intense Jade
Still beating this palette on a weekly basis but also slipping into other goodies I own.
Maybe I will switch it up a little bit next time. Se'you!!!
Should I mention I also have a toddler??? It is hard. I was under the impression that now I know it all but no... With the new one, everything feels anew. You should have seen my frustration with sore nipples. I had breast pump on one hand and nipple pads on the other. Sleepless nights are back and they hit me hard this time since I can not rest throughout the day.
Anyways, makeup is really motivating especially now. I know it sounds crazy but otherwise I want to live in my pajamas without even washing my face.
Also, makeup can be quick, super qucick. I love my Natasha Denona eye shadow palettes these days. I am just getting used to them and they are amazing. I usually focus on two shades and an easy look. It is easy to get lost with these and turn into a crystal ball. So focusing on minimum number of shades really help.
Today. I am going for one of my favorite combos; Calypso Blue and Aubergine ; The 4th and 3rd shades in the bottom row from left. Calypso Blue is a duo crome shade, super impactful and has a thin formulation, which I love. Aubergine is matte. It goes great with Calypso Blue nut I did not like it is performance all that much. The color built up nice but did not blend very good. It was eaten by the intensity of the Calypso Blue. You can definitely detect the color but still I preferred a more smooth application, and better color payoff given its price tag. I used a bit of the shade Maroon, the shade over the Aubergine, in the lover lash line. It is metallic, and feels very creamy. Ton of brands do this color. It is a cult classic metallic purple shade that complements all the eye colors.
By the way, These eye shadows work great over Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer. Brush wise, I do not have a specific choice. I grabbed whatever I can find. The look is very simple.
I hope the video is helpful. My life is a wreck at the moment but everyone is healthy. I feel grateful. More looks to come using this palette.
