Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer

I have mentioned several times in my previous videos and posts; this is the best primer I have ever used.  Easy on my aging skin, also sturdy on my oilyish eye lids.  My eyelids used to be extra oily but now I think it is changing.  Eyeshadows still crease if I use foundation/ concealer and powder combo just as a primer.  So even if you have oily eyelids, I think this one is still worth trying.

This primer is a sure thing if you are into mineral eyeshadows.  Look no further.  I love to mic different textures on a daily basis.  So far, the only formulation I go easy with has been dry textured mattes; I am talking about ABH subculture level dry.  Otherwise, do not hesistate; load on as if you are using UD eye shadow potion.

One serious shortcoming is that, it has no base color.  So the effect is like putting eye cream on your eyes.  It has no coverage.  This may be a problem  especially if you have a lot of texture and discoloration on your skin.  I do have the texture issue but I do not want to give up the soothing sensation this gives to my delicate eye area. I follow this with a cream eyeshadow on the brow bone to minimize the texture and help with blending.  It does not kill the purpose because the cream eyeshadows smoothly glides on this primer and dries down with it.  It is still very comfortable to apply.

This is not going to work with glitters but nothing does other than glitter glue really.

Below is an application of several different eyeshadows.  Of course, I have several other videos showing this product in action.  This one is dedicated to the primer specifically.

Combining Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows with Inglot AMC Pure Pigment

Darn it!!! It worked awesome.  I did not need to add another brand to my already crowded shopping list but they were made for each other.

Even tough, I had such a difficulty creating all matte eye shadow combo with Devinah Cosmetics mattes, applying them with emollient eyeshadow changed everything.  Just a huge dip note here: dark , cool tone mattes work much better with patting motion instead of swiping.

I may sound ridiculous right now but working your eyeshadows horizontally works better than working them vertically with these super dry formulation. Usually, I see people layering colors from crease to lid.  With these ones, I start with the lid and I blend layering the colors from inner corner to outer corner. Especially, if you have hooded eyes try doing this. We do not have a defined crease, so whatever we build on the so called crease disappears when we look straight ahead.  When I apply shadows from inner corner to outer corner and then blend the upper edge, I get much better result defining the crease.

I really enjoy this one,  It was another purple look but felt very different this time.  I never went this cool toned before and I loved it.

Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows

Oh Myyy!  This took some time. The matte eyeshadows from Devinah Coametics have been a tough nut to crack for me.  They are very similar to matte eyeshadows in ABH Subculture Palette, so beware if you do not wanna pull your hairs with frustration.  Do not try them for the first time when you are rushing to work.  Just warning, Love....

Actually, I am exaggerating just a little bit???? First of all, I am dumping Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer under everything and with some formulations it just makes things complicated. These eyeshadows are very dry; they have very high concentration of pigment.  So I prefer packing them instead of swiping them on the eyelid.

Because they are very dry, layering shades on top of each other is a bitch. But something I do to blend the edges:

  • Apply the color over sticky base ( cream eyeshadow) with patting
  • Blend the edges with a lighter color
  • Go back to the original color and blend one more time to get a non patchy, blended look
This is getting so scientific, I am taking a coffee break here.

The other problem is they are crumbling due to their super soft nature.  Sucks a great deal because how am I going to travel with them.  You know what I mean???  Yes, that precious one week vacation we use eventually....

Overall, still playing with these and good news is they passed AMC Pure Pigment test.  I tried combining them and they stayed strong without fading.

The matte slection for Devinah Cosmetics is yummy.  Beware, you will get sucked in right away.

Here is my somewhat ok look.  It took me 2 weeks to finally appload and this look was the worst of all I accomplished in two weeks.  Struggle is real.

Enjoy!!! ( I guess)

Natasha Denona Blue Purple Palette ; Amazing Bright Shadows to Bring Out Your Eyecolor

I realize I have been missing a lot.  You should never say never when it comes to color; you may be overlooking a color that may be your perfect match.  The scariest and the craziest color, by my norms, in this palette have become my obsession within the last week.  It is the Color KOH TAO. I loved it so much, I looked up the meaning.  Apparently, it is an island and when you see the pictures, you understand where the inspiration is coming from.

Different versions of it are not new to the market; MAC has a pigment called Hi-Def Cyan. They have had it since before I start watching Youtube so well over 10 years now.  I am not gonna get bananas and buy everything this color but time to dissect from earthy earthy tones and explore a bit of flamboyant.  Worst case I will call it a dramatic eyeliner day.

I hope you enjoy this one.  It has been my favorite so far. While editing this video, I was almost gonna score another palette of hers but Noo Sir.  I barely touched half of the palette and the green brown palette cursing at my face every morning.

Ok, Myself presents....  See you with a new look next time.

I AM ABOUT TO GIVE UP

on this project of mine; I decided to use each and every shade in my Natasha Denona Blue Pruple Palette.  I am not saying use up, I am saying use just for "once". Given that how much I wanted it and how much I paid for it, I assumed this would be the only thing I want to use till the rest of my life.  Believe sunny, It is all wonderful but simply put "too much".  I get great pleasure looking at it but it is overwhelming.  I realize I do not want to use this many metallic shades all the time and I am kind of a MAC girl at hearth I guess; Sorry "Hearth wants what it wants".  I prefer blown out smokey looks.

If Natasha Denona Palettes were coming with a significant range of mattes, I would be in line.  I purchased the Safari Palette right away but those mattes turned out to be editorial ones as well.  So I am a little bit tired from this much metallic and vibrant tones at this time.  I want to go back to my good old MAC ones and put my self in rehab with mediocre, error free pigmentation.

For today's look, we are clinging to mattes.  It is a colorful look but I enjoyed it.  Teal and blue is such a energizing combination and goes great with casual jeans and t shirt attire.

Also, I come across 3 shades in the blue purple palette that are very similar in terms of formulation to Safari Palette mattes: steel blue, powder blue, and smoke apply exactly the same as the mattes in the safari palette.  They are creamy, vibrant, and opaque. However, blending them is is very different and something I am not super confidant just yet.

I think I still have half of the palette to go.  I have one more look lined up but I am losing my enthusiasm little bit.  The great part is these eye shadows can easy be removed from the pan. This can make it easier to combine them with other mattes.  I will try.

I hope you like this one.

Do not underestimate Mineral Makeup; It is quite awesome!!!!!

Mineral makeup used to be dull: I mean "why even bother putting it on".  For a split second I got overwhelmed by main stream brands and found myself in indie town.  Guess what?  There is a new sheriff in town: Concrete Minerals.

Indie brands have amazing products in every category; In fact, they are the trendsetters.  This brand has been in the market quite sometime now and for all the good reasons.  Their Electric Eye Primer is amazing and I don't want to shut up about it.  It works like a dream with all  sorts of eye shadows and it is going to have it's dedicated video pretty soon.   In summary, you have to have it if you use any type of shimmer or metallic eye shadows.  Natasha Denona should sell this products together with hers. I mean this has to be a prerequisite to buy one of her products. I told you I do not shut up about it.

Now to the eye shadows.  I first saw the application of these by BIOHAZARDOUS BEAUTY

She is an amazing youtuber and have a closet full of indie eye shadows.  She is the eye model for this brand and has a discount code TORI20

I loved her looks with these eye shadows and wanted to try right away.

Well, they are different for me.  Mineral makeup is a whole new concept to me.  The first time I used these eye shadow, I was almost disappointed.  However, they grow on me the very first time I wear them.  These eyeshadows look incredible in broad day light.  They are not obnoxiously metallic but they show their true potential when mixed with the oils on your skin.  During application, you may not think highly of them but check your makeup in 15 min, in an hour or 2 and they will put a smile on your face.  So, the wear of makeup is very different with mineral eye shadows. The more you carry them, the better they get.  Also, it does not feel like you are wearing makeup.  They are weightless.  I know it is funny to say this.  How much an eye shadow can weigh.  But you will really feel it if you are using very emollient metallic shades.

I am still mesmerized by my Inglot AMC pigments but they sit in a drawer while I use my Concrete Mineral eyeshadows daily.  I really want to try their matte formulation.  It is going to happen soon. I am still experimenting with these eyeshadows and more looks will follow.

Yay!!!!

Nude makeup; not so simple anymore.

I remember the days I put blush on bare skin.  Better yet, swiping a layer of powder foundation gently on my skin and a lip gloss.  Literally, WTF?

I love smokey eye makeup looks.  There is a thin line between just right and too much.

I love shimmer all over and yes, it feels too much especially during the day.  Going back to natural tones and pulling a barely there makeup feels refreshing and young.  It is not my everyday style but I like it once in a while.

My skin is dry but looks very good these days.  My acne, after pregnancy, completely cleaned out and I feel like my early 30s.

This is a very sleepy video of me.  I am proud of it.  I am proud of the fact that I am giving myself the time I need.

Recommend me your favorite matte eye shadow formulations.

High Shine Simple Smokey Eye- I mean why not????

If you combine this with falsies and glitter and baking... Yes, it is too much for work.  But, on its own with clean and tuned down face makeup, why not? It is elegant and energized.  It feels special.

I can not tell you how many times my daily, work makeup made me look even more tired and worn down.  Soft browns and soft pinks, same old, same old... It is very important too feel excited about your makeup routine.  It should not be a routine, it should be a self care ritual. So, look for colors and textures that excite you. Slowly corporate them to your ritual.

I continue to dig into my ND eye shadow palettes.  The key thing while using these palettes is to focus on minimal number of shades.   Also, concrete minerals electric eye primer is match made in heaven.  Start with your lid shade, then blend your crease colors.

For this look, I used:

  • Quick Silver on the lid
  • Deep Pacific on the outer corner of the lid
  • Petroleum Blue in the inner part of the lid over Quick Silver
  • Mac Cosmetics Soba in the crease
  • Stila eyeliner in Intense Jade
Still beating this palette on a weekly basis but also slipping into other goodies I own.

Maybe I will switch it up a little bit next time.  Se'you!!!

Makeup with a New Born - Discovering Natasha Denona Blue- Purple Palette

Should I mention I also have a toddler???  It is hard.  I was under the impression that now I know it all but no... With the new one, everything feels anew.  You should have seen my frustration with sore nipples.  I had breast pump on one hand and nipple pads on the other.  Sleepless nights are back and they hit me hard this time since I can not rest throughout the day.

Anyways, makeup is really motivating especially now.  I know it sounds crazy but otherwise I want to live in my pajamas without even washing my face.

Also, makeup can be quick, super qucick.  I love my Natasha Denona  eye shadow palettes these days.  I am just getting used to them and they are amazing.   I usually focus on two shades and an easy look.  It is easy to get lost with these and turn into a crystal ball.  So focusing on minimum number of shades really help.

Today. I am going for one of my favorite combos; Calypso Blue and Aubergine ; The 4th and 3rd shades in the bottom row from left.  Calypso Blue is a duo crome shade, super impactful and has a thin formulation, which I love.  Aubergine is matte.  It goes great with Calypso Blue nut I did not like it is performance all that much.  The color built up nice but did not blend very good.  It was eaten by the intensity of the Calypso Blue.  You can definitely  detect the color but still I preferred a more smooth application, and better color payoff  given its price tag.  I used a bit of the shade Maroon, the shade over the Aubergine, in the lover lash line. It is metallic, and feels very creamy. Ton of brands do this color.  It is a cult classic metallic purple shade that complements all the eye colors.

By the way,  These eye shadows work great over Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer. Brush wise,  I do not have a specific choice.  I grabbed whatever I can find.  The look is very simple.

I hope the video is helpful.  My life is a wreck at the moment but everyone is healthy. I feel grateful.  More looks to come using this palette.
